Welcome IM Max Cornejo
Chess in Utah is excited to announce that International Master Max Cornejo will spend his summer in Salt Lake City. Max is one of the top ten ranked chess players in Peru and currently has an ELO (International rating) of 2397. Some of his accomplishments include first place in the Pan-American U14 Championship (2003), second place in the Pan-American U16 Championship (2005), second place in the South American U20 Championship (2008), and first place in the Peruvian U16, U18, and U20 Championships (2005, 2006, 2007). Max also plays board 4 for the University of Texas at Brownsville, one of the top three universities in the Americas for chess.
